THE FIRST QUESTION ASKED BY SENIOR MANGER WAS “ HOW YOU WILL PROMOTE SALE “ ( THE POST WAS FOR MANAGER AND ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR SALES MANAGER) I TOLD HIM ELEVEN POINTS IN WRITING , HE FORCED ME TO EXPALIN POINTWISE.ANYWAY I EXPLAINED THOROUGHLY.NOW GM TURNED TO ME AND ASKED “ WHY YOU WANT TO LEAVE YOUR EXISTING JOB ? ? I TOLD HIM FOR BETTER PROSPECTS .. THAT SPECIALIST WAS LOOKING AT MY FACE AND LASTLY THAT “BURTRAINED RUSSEL” ASKED “ MR…….HOW YOU PERCIVE IF YOU GET THIS JOB ? ? I SIZZLED , LOOKED AT HIS FACE AND REPLIED ‘ PLEASED”.THAT INTERVIEW REMAINED ONLY INTERVIEW , NO REPLY FROM H.R.D , OR MY BOSS ( ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION) AFTER SOME TIMES I CAME TO KNOW THAT SUPPLIER COMPANY HAVE CANCELLED THEIR FRANCHISE , G.M AND MANGER ARE NO MORE WHEREAS “SPECIALIST” HAVE JOINED ANOTHER COMPANY.
THE SAME COMPANY IN WHICH I WAS WORKING , ADVERTISED HALF PAGE ADD IN A LOCAL ENGLISH NEWS PAPER, INVITING APPLICATION FOR “SALES SUPERVISOR”.HUNDREDS OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED , INTERVIEWD, AND FINALLY SELECTED A PERSON., SON OF GM CLOSE FRIEND LIVING A FEW YARDS DISTANCE FROM HIS HOME PLACE.ALL CAN JUDGE THE ORIGON OF THAT INTERVIEW. IS IT LOYALITY TO COMPANY ? ? IS IT NOT MISUSE OF POWER OR BREACH OF TRUST ? ?
I AM OF THE OPINION , THAT INTERVIEW IS A GET -TOGETHER SESSION OF CANDIDATE AND EMPLOYEER , WHERE INTERVIEWER HAVE TO ADJUGE THE PERSONALITY , APPEARANCE , DRESSING , WALKING AND CONVERSATIONAL STYLE OF CANDIDATE..INSTEAD OF “STUPID QUESTION” INTERVIEWER SHOULD GIVE HIM A TOPIC , ASKING TO WRITE FEW LINES ON THAT SUBJECT.THIS PRACTICE WILL ENLIGHT THE CALIBRE , WRITING POWER , EXPRESSION , ART OF COMMUNICATION , WRITING GRIP ETC ETC.
